For the third consecutive year, SMI has organized the Official “Grito de Dolores” for the Consulate General of Mexico surpassing 12,000 attendants this past September 15, 2007. The “traditional” event has historically been held at the offices of the Consulate. This year despite the location change, the attendance increased due to the media exposure and public relations efforts by SMI, using local and national channels for information distribution.
The event requires organizing all the logistics of a large publicly held event such as securing the location, permits, insurance, arranging a VIP meeting area, entertainment including cultural and artistic performances, vendor exposition, and children entertainment areas. Yearly, the Consul General invites all of the North Texas area which is under his jurisdiction, covering 123 counties. SMI is proud to hold a successful record of event promotion and organization.
